Unfortunately, there is no preferential treatment for foreign owners. Article 9 of the Law on the Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of foreigners in Viet Nam, the foreign owner if not working in Viet Nam is eligible to apply for up to 6 months’ visa.

The Law on Housing 2014 and supplemented regulations thereof does not provide for any visa exception or residency statues if you are the owner of a property in Viet Nam.
