AirAsia
will introduce a new service linking the Malaysian capital with Cam Ranh, the
nearest airport to Nha Trang, a popular beach destination in Vietnam. The new
daily service will start 14 September using an Airbus A320.
Booking opened for the new service earlier
this week. Daily flights will depart Kuala Lumpur at 1:30 and arrive in Cam
Ranh (CXR) at 11:35. The return flights will depart Cam Ranh at 12:00 and
arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 15:15.
The addition of Cam Ranh marks the airline’s
fourth route to Vietnam. Up until 9 July the airline is offering a special fare
of MYR99 for the travel period 14 September to 28 August. The promotional
all-in fare is for one-way travel only, inclusive of taxes. Terms and
conditions apply.
AirAsia Berhad head of commercial, Spencer Lee
said: "This year is all about driving the Asean vision forward with the
year-long Visit Asean@50 initiative. In line with this, we are happy to be
expanding our network with our 54th unique route from Malaysia to cover yet
another exciting destination within the region.”
AirAsia also connects
passengers to other cities in Vietnam including Ho Chi Minh City, Danang and
Hanoi. Outside of the launch promotion the airline posted a fare of MYR240 on
the route. Flight time is two hours and 15 minutes.
